CASTELLI CHEESE AMONG THE BEST CHEESES IN THE WORLD
On 2 November 2018, the best cheeses in the world were selected during an annual competition World Cheese Award in Bergen, Norway.
For over three decades, the event has gathered producers of cheese, retailers, buyers and consumers from all around the world.
This year, the competition encompassed a record number of 3,500 cheeses evaluated by 230 experts and specialists from the entire world. Judges worked in teams, each consisting of four members. They nominated the cheeses to brown, silver and gold medal. Next, the winner cheeses were evaluated by the jury comprising of 16 experts renowned in the world.
On awarding their accolades, the judges concentrated on a cheese’s skin, colour, texture and most of all - taste.
We are proudly announcing that in this year’s edition of the competition, 5 cheeses from Nuova Castelli won gold medal, one cheese won silver medal and 6 cheeses were presented with brown medals.
